Premier Sandy Silver

Premier Sandy Silver is attending the Council of the Federation meeting today and Tuesday in Victoria.
Silver is meeting with all 13 premiers for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2021.
The conference is an opportunity to highlight the priorities of Yukoners and advance discussion on common challenges facing Canadians.
Silver will lead a discussion on Arctic sovereignty and security at the meeting.
The council will also discuss a number of issues related to health care, economic recovery and affordability.
Many premiers say the federal government must up its ante for long-term health care funding, and want a conference with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to discuss the issue.
“I look forward to working with my fellow premiers in person once again,” Silver said last Thursday.
“These meetings help us raise the profile of challenges facing Canadians across the country while collaborating on solutions that work for Canadians and Yukoners alike.”
The council meets twice annually.
British Columbia Premier John Horgan is the chair for the 2022 summer meeting. Two weeks ago, he announced he will step down as premier this fall after his New Democrats choose a new leader.
The last in-person council meeting was held in 2019 in Toronto; subsequent gatherings were held via video-conference due to the pandemic.

Today, residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario received a carbon rebate cheque from the federal government. Not Yukoners though. Yukon's premier doesn't even have the stones to go to bat for Yukoners regarding carbon tax on home heating fuel. I'm so tired of waiting for this spineless puppet to boss up.

@ Patti; These forums have a diverse bunch of people who participate, we may not always agree but rarely are we rude to one another. Recently you have been unpleasant to both Wilf and Juniper for no apparent reason. Maybe all the thumbs down you receive does not bother you but I would be more inclined to give credence to your posts if you thought more carefully before posting. I do not always agree with Juniper but I enjoy and respect her posts; she also has a right to voice her opinion. Please try yourself to be more charitable to all.

@ Patti - she has has lots of positive responses to me and I am a dickhead. I think it is just you Patti. I think she doesn't like you, might have been something you said. I often suffer the same fault as you - we accomplish nothing by bickering amongst ourselves when we have expert gaslighters to rid the government of. Focus on that. We have a year of election preparations to be making now and probably a half dozen more protests nationwide.

And to think, Trudeau has been referred to as a Grade B, second rate actor. Trudeau played Papineau in The Great War and was never mentioned again anywhere. I found a lot of reviews, generally as an actor. Sounds like he was never going to make it in Hollywood. I don't think he ever got over his desire to be an actor because he always plays to an audience. Sometimes, a make believe audience, because no one is there.. and sometimes just practicing..like.. crying on cue. Maybe he could make a documentary on country leaders who cry. Or maybe..he cried because he thinks its attractive to the ladies to show his feminine side. Also, his dye job is just awful. He needs a new hairdresser.

What to say about Sandy Silver...can't look me in the eye, can't publish my opinion in the paper. Can't look the Yukon in the face, yet lives in it by our good graces.

Sandy are you supporting drop the carbon tax? Are you supporting northern Canada is special revenue bump from Federal Government to support our failing health care system? Federal Government and Provinces used to share the cost of health care 50% each now it is 35% Federal and regions 65%.
Sandy what is Yukon share of health care costs now and do you support a 50/50 split or should we get 65 federal contribution 35% Yukon. Again Sandy how much do we get for health care in the Yukon From the Federal Government and where is it spent? Why does our premier and ministers not answer voters questions???

Wasn't Covid-19 declared a pandemic in 2020?

Don't forget SSilver, you're supposed to represent the people. Not lord over them.
It's proven that the covid jab doesn't prevent catching and spreading the virus.
We urgently need a permanent end to all covid mandates now, and to get rid of the ArriveCan app. Only then will our health care system, airports, and tourism industry can begin to recover.
We have a fundamental right to chose which medical procedure, based on full information of risks and benefits. Stop hiding the truth about the covid jab risks. When providing covid statistics, indicate the age groups and covid jab status for each category. It's about transparency, remember?

@Yukoner ‘71 on Jul 11, Sadly, JT has sold Canada to the "new world order government" through his puppet master Klaus Schwab. Canada and Canadians are no more his interest or concern. Everything he does now is just for a silly joke. That's when he's not in hiding.

"Arctic sovereignty and security". Canada's Artic sovereignty is in name only. We lost sovereignty years ago when the Liberals refused to protect it. It now belongs to Russia and China. And "security"? what a joke. JT gave most of our military equipment to Ukraine, with no plans to replace it. What does Silver expect to protect the Artic with, freighter canoes and red cap and sweater Rangers with left over WW2 303 Lee Enfield rifles? If this sounds like a joke, it is. But it's true none the less. So don't embarrass us by discussing the subjects, Alaskans might be reading this.

While not related to this meeting it’s been interesting observing Trudeau lately. Several days ago he planted a tree with Jane Goodall and yesterday he found yet another obscure event from 107 years ago to deliver another tearful apology for. He seems to be so disconnected from the reality of the problems this country is dealing with concerning skyrocketing inflation, collapsing health care, non functioning airports and other government services in general. Meanwhile his government announces more plastic bans and fluff pieces that are really of no important consequence. It really fits the saying of Nero fiddling while Rome burns, it’s like Trudeau is in a daze and can’t handle the reality that this country needs help and some real leadership now before things completely collapse.

Nice blue and yellow ribbon Sandy, that’ll scare Putin away. Better focus on getting a military base built in Yukon.
