A search for a 39-year-old Calgary man is underway after the boat he was in capsized last night on Teslin Lake.

In an interview this morning, RCMP Staff Sgt. Brad Kaeding said a helicopter and four boats are being used with a ground search happening as well.

Strong winds and waves flipped the motor boat he and his wife were in last night around 10 p.m. The pair had only one lifejacket which the woman used to swim to shore. She hiked for about two hours before arriving at a cabin where she was able to contact the Teslin RCMP.

As of this morning some debris from the boat had been located, but the man has not.

Kaeding said RCMP are asking residents of the area to inform them of anything found. As he pointed out the location of any material from the boat may help in the search for the missing man.
