A leather equestrian saddle, two power tools and a homemade tool box containing chisels and augers were stolen earlier this week from the back of a pickup truck in Copper Ridge.

The estimated value of the missing goods is more than $2,000, Whitehorse RCMP Const. Dean Hoogland said this morning.

Police received a call at 9 a.m. Monday from the truck’s owner, who lives on Winze Place.

The back window of the truck was missing, and the canopy over the box had been broken into overnight.

Two Dewalt power tools – a combination power drill and saw and a hammer drill – were taken, as well as the $1,300 piece of horse tack, a Sensations treeless English-style saddle.

A plywood box full of hand tools was stolen too.

The theft occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday.

“Neighbourhood inquiries were conducted in the area with no suspects being IDed,” Hoogland said.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance to report any information regarding this theft to the Whitehorse RCMP detachment at 667-5561.
