Rollover victim identified

The 34-year-old Yukoner who died in Sunday's rollover off the Alaska Highway west of Whitehorse has been identified as Thomas Brown of Whitehorse.

The 34-year-old Yukoner who died in Sunday's rollover off the Alaska Highway west of Whitehorse has been identified as Thomas Brown of Whitehorse.

Yukon coroner Sharon Hanley released the name this morning.

The accident occurred at around 12:40 a.m. Sunday when the 1984 Ford Tempo Brown was driving skidded off the Alaska Highway, near the North Klondike Highway intersection.

It entered a ditch, where it rolled several times before coming to a stop. Brown died of head injuries from the crash.

Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to Whitehorse General Hospital, where they were treated and released for minor injuries.

Brown's name was withheld until his next-of-kin were notified.
