A new urban three-storey condominium development on the last remaining waterfront property in downtown Whitehorse is set for construction, the proponents said earlier this month.
The project is a partnership among the Ta'an Development Corp., the Vuntut Gwitchin Limited Partnership and private investors Jennifer Byram, her father, Keith, and Jess Jewel.
The development, named Rivers Edge, is located next to Shipyards Park.
"Situated away from traffic routes within a naturalized waterfront setting, Rivers Edge provides an ideal urban housing alternative to suburban living,” the proponents said.
Located at the corner of First Avenue and Ogilvie Street, and fronting directly onto the Yukon River, the site provides south, west and east sun exposure and incredible views, the developers said.
The project will involve six residences, including two two-bedroom plus den units, thre
two-bedroom units and one one-bedroom penthouse suite.
Commercial units will be available for sale or lease on the first and second floors.
The Rivers Edge Partnership is a development company with extensive Yukon holdings.
It has a close association with Cardinal Construction and Kobayashi and Zedda Architects.
