The Yukon RCMP say an investigation into alleged shots fired Wednesday in Carcross turned up nothing.

“An investigation into second-hand reports of shots fired in Carcross has found no confirmed witnesses and no physical evidence related to the calls,” police said later that afternoon.

“Police do not believe there is a risk to the public, and the reports remain unsubstantiated.

“Thank you to the Carcross community for your co-operation and support (Wednesday) afternoon.

“Police presence in town will return to normal after support units, including officers from the M Division Emergency Response Team, attend Carcross to assist in the investigation.”
