A reality TV star has been charged with eight counts under the Yukon’s Environment, Land and Waters Act.

Ken Foy lives in Port Moody, B.C., but is one of the stars of Yukon Gold, a History Network show that follows gold-mining crews in the territory.

Foy has been part of the show since its launch in 2013.

Charges against him are connected to a placer mining site in Dawson City.

Allegations include:

• leaving the site in a state non-conducive to re-vegetation;

• failure to stabilize areas disturbed by mining;

• failure to keep campsites tidy;

• failure to remove all waste from the mining site;

• failure to remove all materials from the operation site at decommissioning of the site; and

• unlawful disposal of solid waste.

Foy will appear in court again on Jan. 18.

He's only one of many! I think they should be made to clean up there mess! Given a time limit. IF not charge them for the cleanup! And take away there mining privileges. NOT TO MENTION WHAT THEY BURY IN THE GROUND YOU DON'T SEE!

Can't wait for the whole reality TV thing to leave the Yukon starting with the gold shows. Most real miners also agree. Just go away please.
