Whitehorse RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in the armed robbery of a gas station on Fourth Avenue early Thursday morning. Police did not specify which station was involved.

At about 1:45 a.m. Thursday, two males, with their faces covered, entered the gas station and demanded money from the cash register, police said Thursday evening.

“Both suspects were armed; one with a wooden table leg, the other with an edged weapon. An undisclosed amount of money was provided and the suspects fled the area.

“Immediate attempts by the RCMP failed to locate the suspects and the investigation is ongoing.”

One of the suspects has a darker skin tone.

Both stand between five feet, five inches and five feet, six inches tall. Both weigh between 150 and 200 pounds.

One suspect wore a black hoodie, black pants and black shoes with white soles.

The second suspect was wearing a pink Billabong hoodie with black pants and white shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 667-5551.

If you have information to provide to police, but wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestoppersyukon.ca or by phone at 1-800-222-8477.

Must be TAGS. But why don't they say? What is the secret?

Something doesn't add up... there are only 2 gas stations on Fourth, one of which has double doors, and the other one closes at 11:00 pm. So how did this robbery take place at 01:45 am...? Did they mean 1:45 pm...? Am I forgetting another station on Fourth...?

A table leg? An edged weapon? A true Yukon robber. Time to pull out a taser and make them both squirm around on the floor for 10 minutes while the cops rally down the street.
Please be on the lookout for a 3-legged table with one of the place settings missing a knife.

This is something that everyone should be aware of and plan before the next robbery. As soon as it seems an easy way to get money it will happen again. Until a better solution can be found I suggest no cash can be accepted after 11 pm for all business open after that time.

Actually, I'm sure it's just 2 guys looking to get back home for the winter. Vacation time is over.
