Yay for the rcmp who randomly pulled over a car and found some weed! The druggies never saw it coming....

Haven't heard much about your prowess at randomly nailing coke, heroin or meth dealers (aka life wreckers)but you found some pot. good job.

'druggies' Yawn. Gee that really hurts. Now go have your Shirley Temple and sit on your high horse thinking about how superior you are to all those awful 'druggies' (like Steve Jobs, Willie Nelson, and many others)

WOW - I am pretty sure the use of marijuana has killed people before. maybe not directly, but there are definitely accidents that are caused every year due to people being high.

Roughly $1200 worth of pot, very newsworthy! Meanwhile, bricks upon bricks of cocaine and other dangerous substances ravage their way through the territory... Get your priorities straight folks! The sole use of marijuana has not killed 1 person EVER. I feel sorry for the guys, they were probably just stocking up and helping out some friends.

Its about time Whitehorse's finest decided to do some work on the "Drug Trafficking" problems in Whitehorse but why not serious drugs like meth, crack, heroin, why weed???? Maybe it's cause people who smoke weed move slower so they are able to catch them. Well good luck to those caught. Claim personal.

That's 5.5 ounces divided three ways, ie, 1.8 ounces per 'criminal'.

I suspect that there was an informant involved from their communities. It sounds to me that the communities are shutting down these individuals, small time as there are, and despite the fact that marijuana and beer are as benign as it gets in the world of intoxicants.

Well, it is very 'Harperesque': The Law Is The Law And Though Shalt Obey! (no matter how stupid the law is)

I do not know the local politics, so I'm not going to judge this particular situation or the RCMP's involvement in it. Generally though, I think the criminalization of marijuana is the only real crime with respect to the substance. It should be legal, controlled like alcohol and taxed.

There is absolutely no comparison in the harms caused by the two substances, with alcohol being far more damaging to people's health and society.

Off my soap box now. I hope they all split the amounts among themselves and plead not guilty.
