It was a bloody Monday in Whitehorse yesterday.
At 7 p.m., the RCMP and ambulance attendants were called to a downtown house party which had already deteriorated into violence.
Someone at the residence called 911 to report a fight, and when they arrived, police found a 19-year-old man had been beaten to the point that he required medical attention.
The man was sent to Whitehorse General Hospital and is believed to have been released, said Sgt. Mark Groves of the Whitehorse detachment. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the fight.
Two people, an 18-year-old Whitehorse man and a 17-year-old, were taken into custody.
The younger man was allegedly in breach of his probation, and assault charges are pending against both. They will appear in court this afternoon.
Two and a half hours later, police were once again called to a downtown residence, this time because someone had been stabbed.
They arrived to find a 35-year-old woman suffering from at least one stab wound. She was sent to Whitehorse General for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested a 28-year-old woman in the immediate area, and charges of aggravated assault are pending against her. She was to appear in court today.
The alleged attacker and victim know each other, said Groves, adding he couldn't give any more details about their relationship.
