Whitehorse RCMP are asking for the public's help in finding two people who invaded an Alaska Highway home early this morning as they continue to investigate the case.
Police were called to the residence at around 3:11 a.m. where the homeowner had been pepper-sprayed.
Officers learned that a woman had come to the house at around 9 p.m. Sunday asking for cigarettes and money for gas, claiming she had driven in from Carmacks. Leaving a digital camera as collateral, she was loaned $40 by the resident.
The woman came back to the home at 2:45 a.m. to get her camera. When the resident asked for his $40 back, she pepper-sprayed him, police said.
A man then came into the home and assaulted the resident. The pair then left with two firearms, a flashlight and cash.
The woman is described as being a first nations person in her late 20s with a thin build and about 5'11 to six feet tall.
She has long black hair past her shoulders and an unusually puffy top lip, police said. She was wearing a multi-coloured blouse with red slacks.
The man who assaulted the homeowner is also a first nations person who's described as tall, between 25 and 35 years old. They left the scene in a small, newer model, cream-coloured car.
