Whitehorse RCMP said Tuesday their General Investigation Section (GIS) continues to investigate allegations related to the use of holds and isolation spaces at Jack Hulland Elementary School.
Police are seeking new witnesses who have not yet spoken with police.
“On November 19, 2021, Whitehorse RCMP was initially made aware of allegations and concerns, and began an investigation with the Whitehorse RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) leading,” police said.
“The goal was to ensure student safety and to conduct an independent criminal investigation into the matters.
“The investigation is complex, and the RCMP is committed to conducting an investigation that is thorough and impartial.”
As this continues to be an active investigation, police added, they are limited on the information that can be released to the public.
“Further details may be made available when appropriate. At this point, the investigators are requesting that any teachers, staff, or parents who have not previously spoken to police and have information about these allegations contact Whitehorse RCMP GIS at 867-667-5551,” police said.
“Police will continue to reach out to anyone who is believed to have knowledge relevant to the investigation, but want others who may have information to know that the investigation is still active.”
The Jack Hulland Elementary School community was made aware of the RCMP’s new request for witnesses through a letter distributed through the school’s communication channels on Oct. 24.

@Dear
They took away punishment. They took away rules of order. The nutbars are now running the show. What could go wrong I ask.

Dear Local yokel on Nov 2, 2022 at 2:52 pm:
Sure, it was a legal maxim, and a protective factor against criminal recidivism in risk management formulations at one time that education was the best safeguard against future criminal behaviour but now they go hand in hand.
Do the children get credits for practical experience? It sounds so absurd to read someone say something negative about kids - FFS! The parents created these little monsters did they not? Or did society do that? I don’t know…
Holy effen Schmidt! What do you think that kid’s social credit score is? A glass case display of social emotional dysregulation for the entertainment of the other children? It has a psyop vibe to it I think. Seriously, if this is not disturbing to you then perhaps you should have your own assessment?
The department of education’s response to children with unhelpful behaviours is to psych ward them for everyone to see. Wow! How many children have been harmed as a result of the message? What if many of those children are aboriginal children? Does that not beg the question of overrepresentation?
Or, maybe they are the white children? The sacrificial lambs on the altars of reconciliation. Dance for me monkey, dance! Regardless of race or culture this is not acceptable. The humiliation and shame associated with this barbaric behaviour for the children so jailed would be best described as trauma inducing - Seriously, WTF!
Where in heck was everybody’s head at? Uh, let me see here, trauma is about guilt, shame, and a lack of control and feeling helpless… How can we keep everyone else safe while compounding the trauma in these dysregulated children… Shame cages, let them fight for their lives in a dissociative fugue state until they exhaust themselves, crumple into a ball on the floor and sleep.
They should have been sent home and Family and Children’s Services should have been contacted to investigate child harms. What are going to learn next? That these cages were used in the off hours to entertain educational staff… Dance monkey…
Were these cages designed and built by the Biden and Harris cage company?
Tell me again about the “progressive left” and how wonderful things are? What message are we sending to all the other children? You will comply or feel the full wrath of the incarcereal state!
What was the motto of the school? No holds barred?

As long as Jeanie and McPhee are in change, you can expect many more lawsuits.

Maybe time out rooms are needed for these violent little snowflakes. While good kids get bullied to death. But maybe these darlings just had harsh potty training?

investigate, if there is bad sh*& happening go hard on the people. But, if it is complaining entitlement of a few parents who expect the school system and teachers to babysit their kids and tolerate abuse from them without a system to manage them, then hold these entitled parents just as accountable and sue them for the taxpayer costs of the investigation and damages to the teachers who in my experience are hard working people.

From what I’ve heard, these isolation rooms the kids were out into were essentially rooms that were constructed so that the child having a serious meltdown would neither:
-hurt themselves
-damage property
Apparently one room had a drum set in it so the little darlin could release some energy.
