The coveted gold for the best synchronized swimming team in the Canada Winter Games was presented to Quebec this morning

The eight swimmers from La Belle province finishing the event a solid two points ahead the silver medalists from Ontario after Thursday evening's final swim. Alberta took home the bronze.

The Yukon did not have a team, though Kelsey Metropolit, and Christine Spinks had solid performances during their two swims in the duet category.

As one spectator put it, they didn't look at all out of place amongst the best under-18 swimmers in the country.

Camille Bowness and Marie-Lou Morin of Quebec were presented with gold in the duet category, while the silver went to Katie LePage and Chelsey Matthews of Team Ontario. The bronze medal went to Alberta's Emily Brooks and Claire Friessen.

In the solo category which wrapped up this morning, Quebec's Bowness was presented with her third gold, while the silver went to Samantha Lainne Mawhinney.

Saskatchewan's Jessica Guenther was presented with the bronze medal the first Games medal ever won by the province's synchronized swimming team.

To make up for very limited seating through the week which was available only though tickets sold out before the Games began, the pool was opened up to the public early this afternoon; as the winning teams prepared to perform their routines for those who were unable to see them.
