Whitehorse RCMP are asking Angel Carlick to get in touch with her family or the Whitehorse detachment to confirm she's safe.

The RCMP released a statement this morning with the request, noting the 19-year-old hasn't contacted her family or friends for a few weeks.

She was, however, last seen by police on May 31.

Carlick is a first nations woman with brown eyes and shoulder-length, straight brown hair. She's about five feet tall and weighs around 99 lbs. There's also a scar on her left cheek.

While Carlick is asked to contact police or her family, anyone else who has seen or knows where Carlick is has also been asked to contact the local RCMP detachment at 667-5555 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
