Residents and motorists travelling through the Ibex Valley area are asked to remain cautious and be on the lookout for a grizzly bear following a human- wildlife conflict on Monday.

“The individual is receiving medical attention and the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time,” Environment Yukon said Monday afternoon.

The person’s injuries are not life-threatening.

No further information was available from Environment Yukon on Tuesday morning.

The bear was with a cub.

Conservation officers were on the scene Monday monitoring the area and planned to return today.

A number of “Bear in area” signs have also been posted. Residents are asked to avoid the Wanners Way Trails.

Area residents should keep their pets on a leash and carry bear-spray when outdoors.

If you spot a bear and the bear or humans could be at risk, report it 24/7 to the TIPP line at 1-800-661-0525.

Just wish them well on Oct 21, 2021 at 7:12 am

@Dave. How do you know headphones were worn? Were you there? You know zero about the circumstances of that day so you should keep your negativity to yourself.

I hope this person is ok after a very scary incident.
