By Whitehorse Star on August 16, 2023

RENT, by Jonathan Larson, performed by the Yukon Theatre for Young People’s senior company, will start tonight at the Yukon Arts Centre. ‘Some of the themes that the show explores include poverty, homelessness and the struggle of the creative class. For this reason, the presentation is pay-what-you-decide. ‘We want as many folx to see this show as possible – and have tried to remove as many barriers as we could.’ There are only three performances of the show. Trigger and content warnings: suicide, self-harm, substance abuse, homophobia, AIDS and homelessness. Language and sexual references. Viewer discretion is advised.
