More than two weeks after he was reported missing, Ross River RCMP are seeking the public's help in finding a Yellowknife man.
He was last seen in the Keel Lake area near the border between the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
Norman Hennel, who's in his 60s, was dropped off by plane in the area, about 80 kilometres northwest of MacMillan Pass, on Sept. 3, RCMP said in a statement today.
He was wearing a black Carhartt-type jacket, green wool pants, rubber boots and a baseball cap.
He was carrying a rifle, tarp/fly, axe and a Trapper Nelson backpack.
Hennel is a Caucasian with blue eyes and grey hair, with a medium to heavy build, weighing 180 lbs. He's 5'11' tall.
After he was reported missing on Oct. 1, the RCMP conducted multiple air searches of the Keel Lake area, though they were hampered due to poor weather conditions.
The area isn't accessible from the ground due to snow and ground conditions.
On Oct. 8, a search of the camp and cabins in the area showed no sign of human activity.
Unable to determine if Hennel is still in the area, the RCMP said it's possible he may have gotten a ride on the North Canol Highway and travelled to B.C., Alberta or the N.W.T.
Anyone with information about Hennell or his current location is asked to contact the Whitehorse RCMP at 667-5555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
