Police searching for arson suspect
Whitehorse RCMP are requesting assistance in identifying an arson suspect.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m. on April 7, police were called to an arson incident to a vehicle in Hillcrest.
“Upon arrival, police determined that no one was injured by the fire,” police said Tuesday.
Police did not specify the street involved.
They are asking the public for help identifying a suspect.
The man is described as wearing a dark sweater, a dark toque, blue jeans and black runners.
Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of this man is asked to call the police at 667-5555.

In the event the arsonist is apprehended I look forward to hearing his reasons for the vandalism. I recommend to the sentencing judge that he be barred from holding a drivers licence for the next 10 years. Who knows what his next vehicle crime might be. Second recommendation is that the RCMP bring their tracker dogs into service.
