Whitehorse seniors are invited to sign up for the City’s free Takeout Tea Party for Two, which is filling up quickly, before April 29.

Only a limited number of packages are still available, the city said Wednesday.

Seniors can sign up by emailing rsvp@whitehorse.ca with their name, phone number, and neighbourhood.

Packages are available to Whitehorse residents 60 years of age and older.

In September 2020, the city launched the Takeout Tea Party for Two as an alternative option to its traditional, in-person Seniors Tea due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This year, we will once again provide seniors with a self-contained tea party package to enjoy in their social bubble,” the city said.

Each package includes tea and light snacks for two people.

“Participants are also encouraged to send us their favourite tea party photo to share with the community as we celebrate our seniors and elders,” the city said.

Photos should be emailed to lindsay.agar@whitehorse.ca.

Timmies is my social bubble. I'll enjoy it there. But thanks anyway, I know it's coming from the heart.
