Construction of the Schwatka Lake flow meter project began Wednesday.

The city’s contractor, Castle Rock Enterprises Ltd., is installing a flow meter on the raw water main in the area.

A section of Nisutlin Drive near the Whitehorse Rapids Fish Ladder is closed for the duration of the project, which is expected to last seven days from the start.

“Emergency and service vehicles can still pass through the site,” the city said this week.

“Please travel with care, reduce speed, and follow traffic controllers and construction signage.”

More information is available by contacting Castle Rock Enterprises at 668-6188 or the city’s Engineering Services department at 668-8305.
