New hospital rules posted on Facebook

Visitors at any Yukon hospital began facing new rules Wednesday.

By Whitehorse Star on September 3, 2021

Visitors at any Yukon hospital began facing new rules Wednesday.

Anyone visiting a territorial hospital will need to be vaccinated.

“Yukon Hospitals will continue to take every necessary precaution to protect our patients, visitors, staff and physicians,” states the Facebook page for Yukon Hospitals. No advisory was sent to local media outlets.

“Effective Wednesday, Sept. 1, patient visitors must be fully vaccinated with an approved COVID-19 vaccine. Patient visitors must be at least 14 days post-second dose.

“When entering a hospital, patient visitors will be asked their vaccination status.”

Patients and support persons can be unvaccinated or vaccinated.

"Riddle me this"
The only ones allowed to access the pedophile records are the RCMP. The courts have even gone as far as deleting them from the court cases. So why are they allowed more privacy & protection than my medical information?

Riddle me this, not actually on Sep 9, 2021 at 12:59 pm

I've seen this pop up on facebook too, and it's a senseless comparison - they may not carry cards, but they are on a registry, have to check in with police, can't relocate ... all under Section 61 of Criminal Code. People who don't want to get vaccinated don't have to, and then the credential isn't an issue for them.

Charlie's Aunt, I only responded only to the post, said only "Facebook....Facebook.... Facebook. Put it in the local NewsPapers -- something we seniors normally read.". I took that at face value - seniors read newspapers, but not Facebook. Clearly you read more into it than I did.

@Sunny
Thanks for bringing that breaking information forward that a double vaccination does not give you immunity. It's only been in the media as such for about a year now.
Oh, and I got one of those garbage Epoch times ultra right wing rags in the mail too and it made a quick trip to the recycle bin. Keep us informed would you.

@ Anie; you are missing the point in Dennis' post. It had nothing to do with seniors being computer illiterate & most of us are not. Obviously Dennis has a computer or he wouldn't be posting. His complaint was about the obsession with Facebook. Not everyone is a fan of social media, it is time consuming and every group has it's own page.
How many Facebook users list themselves as a YT gov friend? I requested membership with one group that interested me and my e-mail is bombarded everyday with suggestion that I join other groups. Seniors also aren't usually the people walking around town with their nose buried in their phone because they can't survive 5 mins without checking Facebook. Dennis is right, put the announcement on local radio & in press, in print & on relevant web site. It is lazy and shameful for YT to use social media for important announcements.

@G d'N
One does not need an expensive phone. Reliable desktop computers are inexpensive and provide all the news access one needs. There is no need to be constantly 'connected'.

@Anie
I too am a senior who worked in the IT sector for a number of years. My complaint is not so much learning new technologies or staying current with them, but rather the associated costs to staying informed. A few hundred bucks for a smart phone and an expensive data plan from Bell just to get the information I used to get by purchasing a daily newspaper or listening to local commercial radio. On a fixed income as many seniors, I expect our government to honor their responsibility to inform we citizens in a manner that is effective and affordable.

Did you know that Canada has 43217 registered sex offenders? None of them have to carry a passport or QR code, because it violates their privacy rights.

Dennis, please speak for yourself, and not "we seniors". I am a senior. I studied computer science at university in the 1960's. Like many other seniors, I participated in the introduction of the desktop computer to the workplace. Like many other retirees, I keep up with basic technological advances. It's absolutely fine if you chose not to follow those advances. Just please don't infer that all seniors are the same. We need to discourage ageism.

I invite whiners saying we live a dictatorship to travel a bit in the rest of the world to see what's a REAL dictatorship.
They would already be in jail for criticizing their own country.

It would appear the communications staff at WGH or H&SS are becoming focused on a limited number of methods to communicate with the public. Most Yukoners don't spend the day following Facebook or Twitter for information that may be important to them - they depend on our local media to gather and share the important news. It's like YG are hiding in the shadows trying to keep a low profile rather than ensuring all of the audience is fully informed.

Mathew, your calculation is wrong on Sep 5, 2021 at 9:52 am

You should be dividing the number of deaths into the number of people who've been infected (1.5 million), not the entire population of Canada. Because the best way to avoid death and illness from the virus is still to avoid getting it, which many of us are trying to do

What if... on Sep 5, 2021 at 3:30 am

In the beginning of the pandemic, anyone voicing concern over the lab in Wuhan releasing this virus accidentally or intentionally, was labeled a conspiracy theorist or a Trump supporter.

In January 2020 I had done a lot of research and found documentation widely available at that time -that their bat mad scientist In Wuhan, was working on gain of function on corona viruses. Many published papers were available that were peer reviewed and caused concerns in the scientific ethics community of her pursuits.

Earlier in 2019, two Chinese scientists at our Level 4 lab in Winnipeg, were charged in summer and escorted out of lab. The federal government was tight lipped about why and still is. When I spoke about this to people they immediately labeled me a conspiracy theorist, even by one of our leading anti mask - anti lock down proponents. The irony.

Now, there is critical analysis of this possibility - of let’s say “bio warfare” involvement and all arrows are pointing towards Wuhan Lab for the unleashing of Covid. Motivation- Eminent extradition of the 5G princess locked up in her penthouse in Vancouver, trade wars with USA..?

A virus made in a lab requires treatment of equal value. Man made viruses require man made treatments.
Perhaps, this is the non disclosure method of the coercive vaccinations?
It will be 40 years before we know what’s true, transparency is non existent. Critical thinking and debate is silenced, people are labelled and discredited immediately.

Without Transparency there is no trust.

Hello Matthew - And that figure is only the tip of the iceberg. We live in such a world of fantasy as spun by our ‘leaders’ that we cannot even begin to have an honest discussion about the way things actually are. This should be concerning to us all. Unfortunately, not so much.

@Mark hey let's have an open, public discussion about covid, oh right, we don't because we live in a dictatorship, here's some simple math, 26,000÷38,000,000 x 100, what do you get? That's the percentage of dead Canadians from Covid, if you're scared of that number then please, stay inside and do your part, collect Universal Basic Income and keep watching TV. Let's be honest here folks, like it or not doctors are here to push man made synthetic chemicals to mask problems, NOT fix them. Ask a Doctor how many hours of their 8 or so years learning are spent on nutrition..

If health approves the drug as safe to take then we should trust them. It is one group Trudeau can not control or tell them what to do or he finds himself on the wrong end of the stick.. When I went to grade school we got our shots and had a card to show we had had our shots. How else can we help protect our society other than track the health of our people??? I support getting the CV19 shots.

A "fully vaccinated" person can transmit the virus. So why discriminate against the unvaccinated? I thought masks were supposed to protect us?

This move is only intended to punish the unvaccinated. It is sick.
This is an extremely harsh measure. Some patients and their loved ones will suffer immensely by this policy.

COVID injections aka vaccines do not give immunity to the injected. These can still get Covid and pass it on. Findings in a closed hospital in Asia showed that twice vaccinated nurses had about 255 times higher viral load than unvaxxed nurses. They were infecting other staff as well as patients. Israelis, from one of the highest vaxxed nations in the world (similar to Yukon rates) were just banned from entering Sweden because Israel has the largest Covid outbreak since March 2020. (All this info is censored by mainstream but found on Epoch Times, DURDEN’s Dispatch etc). Obviously the Yukon Hospital Board is entirely outside of the realm of science and humanity. At the very least they should know that these shots don’t give immunity.

They cannot impose the same rules on the doctors & their patients because the doctors answer to the government of Yukon and not the hospital corporation. Think about it.

Mathew: also the start of a fully communist regime. Our youth had better be tuned into what is going on in their country and take measures now to put a stop to it. They are the future, and if they want to live in a free society, better get their heads out of their smart phones and pay attention to what's going on around them. Now, the WS may not allow this last piece of news, but the Liberals and NDP...both Federally, Provincially and Territorially are Marxist centred. So, take it from there.

We can explain to you Matthew but we can’t make you understand it.
It may come as a surprise to someone who can’t see past the tip of their nose but the hospital if full of people who are sick. Many have compromised immune systems. So *gasp* they need to be protected from deniers of science and reality.

Further, surviving COVID doesn’t mean a clean bill of health, it means a host life long chronic ailments. Ask the woman from Dawson who just came out of a coma and has to relearn how to walk. Ask about her tracheotomy or her lung capacity.

Imagine a disease with a 98% survival rate and now imagine sitting on an aircraft where the pilot will jettison 2% of the passengers at 37,000 feet. Look around, do you like the odds? 1:50

Vax rates in the Yukon clearly show you continue to being on the wrong side of history.

Absolutely madness and disgusting.. please explain why the hospital is so scared of a virus with EXTREMELY high survival rate.. hospitals are one of the dirtiest germ filled places on this planet.. this is just the start to a segregated society..

Anyone visting a territorial hospital will need to be vaccinated, do you mean must show proof of vaccination or quite literally anytime I go to visit or am in need of the ER, I have to get vaccinated no matter if I already have my shots?
