Two new wildfires were reported last weekend, Yukon Wildland Fire Management said Monday.

An initial-attack crew responded via helicopter to a one-hectare fire in the Ibex Valley.

The blaze, which began as a campfire, was quickly controlled and put out.

Wildfire officers are also monitoring a lightning-caused fire located 37 kilometres east of Ross River.

The 25-hectare blaze is in a wilderness zone, and no values are at risk.

And were the campers found, what's the penalty, did they have a permit, where are they from? The fire and police might want to think about advising officers to watch Sherlock Holmes movies. And the Yukon News could make head lines like, another Yukon Mystery solved.
