NDP motion designed to ward off unethical operators of mines
A motion brought forward by NDP Leader Todd Hardy would see the territory prohibit anyone convicted of serious environmental violations to extract any resources until 'suitable financial compensation has been made to Yukon and Canadian taxpayers for any environmental cleanup arising from their previous operations within the territory's boundaries.'
