An Alberta couple reported missing this week after being in the Yukon have been found, Whitehorse RCMP said late this morning.

“Thank you to all in the Yukon, B.C., Alberta, and beyond who have been on alert for the overdue travellers that Yukon RCMP shared this week,” police said. “We can confirm that they have been located and are safe!”

Police had said Thursday they were seeking public assistance in locating Owen and Susan Konski, who had been reported missing on Wednesday.

Police were told that the Konskis, both in their early 60s, had last been known to be in Whitehorse until July 20 or 21, before heading south on the Alaska Highway.

They are driving a white 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck with an Alberta licence plate and towing a fifth-wheel travel trailer.

“Attempts to contact Owen and Susan have been unsuccessful since July 19, and their family is concerned for their safety,” police had said Thursday.

“They are believed to be travelling back to Alberta. Police have done patrols in areas along the highway and followed up on other leads without locating the couple to this point.”

The search for the couple was widely reported by Yukon media outlets Thursday and this morning.

These folks were likely never lost, just wandering around doing their thing. That being said, the Yukon, BC, Alberta wildernesses, are not safe. Even for seasoned woodsmen, which this couple isn't. It's the responsible thing to do, get a search on for them. I'm glad they were safe, glad someone cared enough to report them missing.

I’m glad they finally found the couple, thanks. God always guide them to go back home to be safe. Thank you so much the RCMP and everyone.

All the hoopla about them being missing. How about telling us where they were found.
