Missing man found dead

The body of a man who had been reported missing Monday has been located, Ross River and Faro RCMP said Tuesday.

The body of a man who had been reported missing Monday has been located, Ross River and Faro RCMP said Tuesday.

Police had said Monday afternoon they had been seeking the public’s assistance in locating 45-year-old Gerald Erlinger.

Officers had been concerned for his well-being.

Erlinger was last seen near the Lapie River campground on the Robert Campbell Highway early Monday morning.

“Ross River and Faro RCMP can confirm that criminality is not suspected in his death,” police said Tuesday.

“The Yukon Coroner’s Service is now investigating. We extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

No further details were released.
