The 12-year-old Whitehorse boy who went missing last week from a local group home is back in the care of family and children's services branch officials.

RCMP Sgt. Don Rogers said today the police were contacted and told Brady Ford was going to return on his own Sunday evening.

"And that's what happened,” Rogers said.

Ford went missing early last week.

In asking for public assistance in seeking his location, the police did note he had a habit of leaving his group home for extended periods of time.
