Divide and conquer is a real thing.
Forced to prove vaccination to anyone for travel or otherwise is against Canadian charter of rights and freedoms, and against privacy act.
People do your research just a little away from MSM you might learn something.

@iBrian
GDP is something you Cons drone on and on about when the winds are in your favour.

Anywho, yes we are doing well, so well in fact isolation for travel is no longer required for those who have been vaccinated. Psst, here’s the part where you move the goalposts saying either:

* It’s too soon
Or
* it’s creating two classes of people

@BNR - Facts are facts and the reason the Yukon is doing so well has nothing to do with Hanley. You can admire and worship him all you want it's guys like you that make people not want to get the vaccine. Herd immunity give me a break. There's been over 2500 cases of covid 19 cases variant as well that have infected people who have had both of these vaccines. So you wanna feel like you're a super hero, go ahead. Oh and for the record, I am an essential worker and have been going since the start of this but I have friends which maybe you don't, that's why the sarcasm. But I nor should anyone else take credit for the success of the Yukon. The citizens of the Yukon that have used common sense but have not been able to attend a proper funerals or go back to work because of this nonsense. It's a free country.

Growth in GDP primarily came from more federal liberal handouts... you can't believe that your local shops had an amazing year (so honestly, stop measuring using GDP). The money is flowing but mental health is suffering... And this is coming from someone who understands the restrictions... It still sucks and GDP growth doesn't really affect individuals in an honest way.

Lots of hackneyed “why are our freedoms being taken away when we have hardly any cases!” arguments.
We have hardly any cases, and are doing really well, precisely because of Dr. Handley's and others recommendations.
To all of you complaining people and whining, shove it, quit thinking only about yourselves.
And when we do achieve herd immunity, it’ll be no thanks to you.

So some of us Yukoners still travelling????
Why? No need to shop or visit Vancouver or to “get some sunshine weather”!
You are getting, COVID and bringing it back! Realize this.
All travel unless medical, and really medical, should be suspended and checked at airport.
Any travel meetings have and are done by Zoom or google meet, etc.
Just don't get it!

@scotch
GDP is measured by taking the quantities of all goods and services produced, multiplying them by their prices, and summing the total. GDP can be measured either by the sum of what is purchased in the economy or by what is produced. Demand can be divided into consumption, investment, government, exports, and imports.

Consider a 2x4x8 was $3.45 on my account last year and is now $10.45, 1/2” plywood was $22 now is $82, would say there's been an inflation of price. Seeing as Yukon doesn’t produce anything significant, it’s been based on sales.
Take into consideration that most sales are actually financed DEBT!!! You have a real sad, sad state of affairs.
As well, government jobs, hundreds have been created.
So, inflated GDP inflation is right neck and neck with the Covid death rate for Yukon. Inflated and false.
No. Yukon is not in a good spot. Current housing is out of reach of many dual income family’s. The basics of life are up, wages haven’t matched.
Won’t bother with what to do. Everyone knows, well anyone not hiding under bed covers behind their curtains and wearing a mask.

So, the liberal/commies got one of their wishes - people, neighbours snitching on each other, just like in any communist country. Soon, it will be family members. Very sad when you cannot trust your friends and neighbours. One of the important commie tactics, pit everybody against each other - divide and conquer. And sadly, it's working. Glad I'm not part of this new age generation.

Al, as usual you are the negative Nelly. The Yukon is doing spectacular, likely the best response on the planet. Certainly the safest jurisdiction on the globe.

82 infections. 2 deaths. +GDP growth.

This is all as a direct result of the sacrifices we've all made (and you've only called 'communism' and 'tyranny') lol.

Fear mongering Hanley same as Trudeau and Tam. 82 cases in over a year and everyone's wearing masks and nobody gets to work unless you get the vaccine twice and then it only protects you for 6 months, then booster shots. I'd rather sell firewood than listen to this guy shut down our TERRITORY, our country, and think free money for junkies is the answer. Great job why not extend CERB or whatever it's called now and keep the people dependent on you. Nah - it's not the Yukon way - work hard, play hard, love harder and respect your neighbors and don't let anyone instill fear or doubt into the mentality.

Why not, just for once, come before us with something positive. Instead it is always the same negativity, doom and gloom.
