Residents of Mary Lake may be noticing more traffic in their community.

On Wednesday, firefighters began working to reduce the fuel risk in the area.
It will be going on from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily until Aug. 21, Yukon Protective Services said.
Residents can expect increased traffic on Fireweed Drive in the mornings and evenings and more traffic on the quarry trail system throughout the day.
There will also be smoke present from pile burns at the work site.

I'm glad the wildfire crews will be getting paid something after sitting around all summer watching the rain fall.
