Man stabbed, dies from injuries

A 27-year-old Whitehorse man has died following a stabbing in the Copper Ridge subdivision of Whitehorse.

A 27-year-old Whitehorse man has died following a stabbing in the Copper Ridge subdivision of Whitehorse.

At about 12:20 this morning, RCMP officers and an ambulance were called to a home on Lazulite Drive, off of Hamilton Boulevard, regarding a stabbing.

The man died at Whitehorse General Hospital.

“Right now, as the investigation is in the early stages, there’s lots of follow-up and verification we need to do before we release any information,” said Whitehorse RCMP Const. Dean Hoogland.

Police are not releasing the man’s name until his family is notified.

They have also not indicated whether they are pursuing a suspect or suspects in connection with the death.

The RCMP Major Crimes division is investigating the death.

Police ask anyone with information about the fatality to contact them at 667-5551.
