Whitehorse RCMP are looking for a suspect thought to be involved in a break-in at G-P Distributing Inc. last Sunday.

Police are looking for Jerrid Bergeron.

“There is no current indication that he is a threat to the community,” they said in a press release.

Police were dispatched to the break and enter at the Porter Creek business last Sunday evening.

Two men, their faces concealed, had entered the building from the back door.

Upon seeing an employee, they left in an older Ford pickup truck.

The vehicle was spotted in Riverdale, and police attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle didn’t pull over, but police didn’t pursue it. It was later located in the Miles Canyon Road area.

Police cornered off the area and tracked the suspects with the help of their service dog.

One suspect was arrested and taken to Whitehorse General Hospital for treatment.

Police ask that anybody with information about Bergeron, the second suspect, to contact them at 667-5555.

Dont run and K-9 wont bite on Apr 8, 2016 at 3:16 pm

Yukonmax, I have to assume by the story that these guys who broke in, fled the scene, there was pursuit, k-9 unit got involved. When you are running and a k-9 is on your tail there may be bite marks.
As per any person who resists arrest - a hospital visit might be necessary. Put yourself in the shoes of RCMP chasing someone down, they will use force necessary to arrest.

"One suspect was arrested and taken to Whitehorse General Hospital for treatment."
What's that all about? Why being arrested required a trip to the hospital for "treatment"?????
