A 27-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery after someone armed with a pen flare demanded drugs from a Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy.

Police were called to the drug store in the Qwanlin Mall at around 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

Whitehorse RCMP Sgt. Don Rogers said a man entered the store, brandished the weapon and demanded prescription drugs.

He made off with a small amount of medication.

A member of RCMP traffic services arrested a suspect a short time later, Rogers said.

The man's name is not being released until he makes his first appearance in court.

It's probably because they tell you it will be an hour to fill your prescription. Then when you go to get your prescription they tell you they could not fill it because they had to ask you a question and they make you wait for another hour. He probably got tired of waiting for his medication.
