A 37-year old Inuvik, N.W.T. man faces several charges after an incident at the Whitehorse Emergency Shelter last Sunday.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., Whitehorse RCMP responded to a call to assist staff with a violent man at the Alexander Street shelter.

Officers found a man threatening staff.

“Efforts to de-escalate the situation were unsuccessful, and the man assaulted an officer while resisting,” police said Monday afternoon.

“In an effort to ensure no other people were injured, police effectively deployed a conducted energy weapon to help take the man into custody.”

Jerry Rogers has been charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, and assault and mischief

No one was seriously injured in the incident, police said.

Hey Anie...ya did not hurt my feelings, I just wanted you to present an argument as to why CPD were completely appropriate and what I do not know about that very, very serious case of skating outside whilst under state dictates.
You can read, not read, participate or not those are your choices.
I am actually fully inclusive and will participate with anyone here.
You need not apologize, but I suppose I will accept that despite it not being necessary. We all do not have to agree on anything, just have meaningful discourse that gives everyone a place at the table the host has graciously set for... "all of us"
Anie, carry on however you like...I will.

Josey, I sincerely apologize that the wording of my post appeared to be calling you a fool. That was not my intention, and I will try to choose my words more carefully in the future. I strongly believe that we can resolve differences only through respectful conversation. For that reason, I will not be responding further to your post, and will likely just not read your posts in the future. It sounds as if you are very unhappy and I do hope that things get better for you. Good luck.

Hey Anie...so I am a fool? I know the context of the story, if you "feel" that is an appropriate response by CPD?
You should move to North Korea.
Bet you support the grievance industry blocking railways & public roads, pulling down statues too? To poor quality LEO's any opposition to their "authoritii" (Eric Cartman) is perceived as a threat. Poor quality LOE's including masses of equity hires, are DEMANDING respect? Also seem to forget that if the "poor" LEO's cannot respect our first world freedoms, our constitution AND charter...by default they get no respect.

Anie... "Almost Everyone is struggling to understand and comply with health experts' advice. There is a HELL of a lot more to "this story" too, but obedient sheep, state sycophants, anti-free thinkers (collective junkies) do not like questions as it contradicts their programming triggering the "safe space" alarm.
Get back into your echo chamber, the world of free thinkers can be a dangerous place for folks as you.

...in summary, OUR M crews acted as they should with feral aggressive humans thrashing in our society targeting others in peace.
CPD did not, rather like they just got outta conflict escalation class, needed a few Midol's too apparently.

Josey, the video of the Calgary incident, as well as subsequent reporting, reveals that there is significantly more to that story, including threats towards the peace officers. Almost Everyone is struggling to understand and comply with health experts' advice. Fools like the Calgary hockey players, and those who jump to incorrect conclusions cause those are so much nastier than the truth, don't help

Well at least he was not merely "skating" when tazed.
Seems a couple officer in Calgary reacted the same at a skating rink.
Here? Good job coppers!
CPD equity hires, need be fired asap before they kill someone.

See folks both cop stories have near the same outcome.
Our M crews did what they SHOULD do in those alleged circumstances.
CPD equity hires did the furthest thing from what a good cop does, undermining their chosen profession acting like complete emotionally unstable ...frankly equity hires!
Not LEO's.

Hope Antifa and BLM doesn't hear of this. Whitehorse is too small for their kinds of protest demonstrations.
