The Yukon Coroner Service has identified the pilot killed in a helicopter crash near Carcross on Tuesday afternoon.

Paul Rosset, 56, of Yellowknife, was flying the R44 Raven II for Whitehorse's Horizon Helicopters when it crashed on the southeast slope of Nares Mountain, chief coroner Kirsten Macdonald said today.

Environment Yukon had hired the helicopter to carry a staff member and a contractor working on a grizzly bear survey.

One of the passengers suffered spinal injuries and was medevaced to Vancouver. The other researcher was not seriously injured.

Neither have been named.
