AT THE SCENE –Whitehorse RCMP Sgt. Dave Wallace speaks to the media Wednesday afternoon at the scene of the incident in the Kopper King area.
A day after an injured man was found in the Kopper King area, Whitehorse RCMP had little to divulge.
A day after an injured man was found in the Kopper King area, Whitehorse RCMP had little to divulge.
The police were called at around noon Wednesday after a resident who had returned home for lunch found an adult male who required “urgent medical care” in the front yard of his mobile home near Prospector Road.
The victim was transported to Whitehorse General Hospital.
At first, the RCMP asked people to avoid the area altogether.
The warning was lifted shortly afterward.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and police are not looking for any suspects, nor are police investigating it as a criminal matter,” an RCMP press release sent this morning said.
“Reports that the man was beaten are erroneous and did not originate from the RCMP.”
Police officers canvassed the area to determine what happened.
“For privacy reasons, police cannot divulge further information on the injured man or the circumstances surrounding the incident, other than he is still in hospital,” the press release said.

Sounds like the subject beat himself to a bloody mess. There wouldn't have been a response from the RCMP if he had had a heart attack or tripped and fallen... There's something awfully fishy about what we're being told...
