A 25-year-old man accused of first-degree murder made his case for bail Wednesday.
Mario Skookum of Carmacks appeared before Yukon Supreme Court Justice Leigh Gower.
The proceedings of the bail hearing are subject to a publication ban, at the request of Crown prosecutor Lauren Whyte.
Skookum’s lawyer, Bibhas Vaze, made the case for bail.
At the end of the day-long proceedings, Gower reserved his decision. Skookum will be back in court next Tuesday, when Gower plans to render his decision.
Skookum is charged alongside Tyler Skookum, 27, with the murder of Wilfred “Dickie” Charlie, 57, in Carmacks.
Charlie went missing on June 19, 2017.
His body was discovered last July 5 in the Yukon River around Fort Selkirk, which is near the confluence of the Yukon and Pelly rivers.
The autopsy revealed to the RCMP that they were dealing with a homicide.

Nice! Why the publication ban? Special Justice?
