Infant was among robbery victims taken to hospital

A one-year-old infant was pepper sprayed along with three other occupants of an Airline Inn hotel room during an armed robbery late Monday night.

A one-year-old infant was pepper sprayed along with three other occupants of an Airline Inn hotel room during an armed robbery late Monday night.

Whitehorse RCMP are asking the public to assist in their search for two suspects who forced their way into the room at 11 p.m.

The duo pepper sprayed the occupants, then made off with an undetermined amount of money, police said in a press release.

All four occupants the infant, another child, age 10, a 41-year-old woman, and a 68-year-old man were taken to Whitehorse General Hospital for treatment, and subsequently released.

'Police believe it was not a random act,' says the press release.

The release says both men were masked at the time.

Whitehorse RCMP Cpl. Glen Ramsey said there is a possibility the suspects may have had contact with, or knew the occupants.

The suspects are described in the release as:

ï Caucasian male, approximately six feet tall, medium build, whitish hair, beard and moustache wearing a green hat with white lettering, black coat and mask.

ï Caucasian male just under six feet tall wearing a black mask.
