The city bylaw required to create an inclusivity advisory committee was passed by city council at its meeting Monday.

Third and final reading of the bylaw received unanimous support.

The committee’s purpose is to focus on issues related to inclusivity and diversity within Whitehorse, says the administrative report prepared for council.

Third reading of the bylaw confirms the two-year appointment of committee members Shonagh McCrindle, Ramesh Ferris, Nancy Kidd, Stace Bernard, Pawan Bhardwaj, Christina Zahar, Bill Burton and Sharlaina Bain.

Committee members will amongst themselves select a chair.

The report says council will expect the committee within its first year to present recommendations regarding means to improve social inclusion and encourage diversity within the city with specific focus on city programs, services and responsibilities.

City administration will work with the committee to develop an agenda, work plan and budget for the first year, says the report.

“FFS - Josey! You are often on point”....
Thank you and I still am.
Still nope, big difference between those two words.

FFS - Josey! You are often on point and you engage in fantastic analyses of many issues through a satirical lens of simpletons doing simple things with great effort to achieve such manifest wrongs in a cascade of perpetual ignorance compounded by declines in fluid intelligence with commensurate levels of increased narcissistic impulse in those with the social positioning to be able to commit the “sheeple” to a course of self-flagellating psychological control of the collective mind… You gots some twists and turns there Josey… Twists and turns!

Equity has nothing to do with outcomes, equality, or any other phenomenon other than “power”. Its integration into all aspects of the practice of law has assured it's ascendance into the lives of all citizens as a governing principle. This is how the Judiciary have been able to interfere into the lives of John Q. Public with ever increasing losses of freedoms in parallel with ‘their’ indicators of a ‘just’ society.

Thus, equity as power becomes the means by which the corporatist classes control society, and control you. I believe we are both of the mind that equity is also a club to be wielded for the purpose of bludgeoning others.

“Equity has long been a part of law, complementing its strength and ameliorating its deficiencies. Over its history, equity developed a number of key principles that advanced the law. One of these is the trust, which is often described as equity’s greatest invention.”

“The use of the term “equity” herein refers to the larger philosophical jurisdiction under which various equitable jurisdictions and principles (such as the equitable, as opposed to legal, interest in land) exist. Where specific instances of equity are referred to in the text, they will be distinguished accordingly, such as by the use of the phrase “English Equity” to designate that specific jurisdiction and its principles.”

“Over time, the integration of equitable principles into the common law, including principles such as unconscionability and good faith in contract law and negligence in tort, has resulted in a narrowing of the historic gulf between law and equity. Adding this development to the merger of legal and equitable jurisdictions, or what has sometimes been described as the “fusion” of law and equity, has muddled the understanding of equity’s traditional function as ‘the spiritual and reforming influence of the law’.”

“This is a particular concern in Canada and the United States, where there is a lack of substantive discussion and explication of the purpose and function of equitable principles in mainstream jurisprudence and academic commentary.”

Hey back at...equity eh...Nope yer factuality inaccurate.
From NACE...
EQUITY
The term “equity” refers to fairness and justice and is distinguished from equality: Whereas equality means providing the same to all, equity means recognizing that we do not all start from the same place and must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances. The process is ongoing, requiring us to identify and overcome intentional and unintentional barriers arising from bias or systemic structures

...hence the need to fabricate classes for the victims, SJW witch hunts, re engineered English, revisionist history, re classify and redefine ACTUAL dictionary entries to appease said mobs and their henchmen.

Nice try though, please...carry on.

As I have asked about other brave new proposals to address the Yukon's social issues; How will progress be measured?
I would like to see a written proposal identifying the goals and objectives this committee will be staffed to achieve. Real targets too, not the usual wishy-washy verbage that boils down to "we're gonna make it up as we go along". Then the public will have a method to measure the City's performance. Oh and include the proposed budget taxpayers will be on the hook to fund.

Equity eh? on Jan 20, 2023 at 5:17 pm

Dear Josey - Caucasians make up about 8% of the world’s population. We need more diversity!

Africans = 17% of the worlds population.
Asians = 60% of the worlds population.
Indigenous = 5%
Latino = 8%

It’s quite apparent that there is an imbalance in the world. We need more Africans, Caucasians, Indigenous, and Latino persons to properly affect the intentions of diversity most equitably… Remember - Equity means equal outcomes for “all”!

Trudeau says… on Jan 20, 2023 at 8:33 am

Dear Bill on Jan 19, 2023 at 3:10 pm:

Sorry, but they are already telling people what and how to think by subscribing to and enforcing a doctrine of compelled speech to avoid the “crime” of causing hurt feelings in unknown others.

Before Trudeau the world believed that Canada was a country founded in the values of peace, order, and good government. A compassionate and caring society that supported citizens to become the best that they can be.

Today with Trudeau Canada and Canadians have become a global laughing stock of wokisme, climate change hysteria supporters, zany net zero zealots, advancing authoritarian hypocrisy, while the scent of racism and misogyny seeps out of the pores of all Caucasian Canadian males in the machinations of La Left Brains.

Literally, it’s too late. Canada is in a non-existent post-nation state, so says Trudeau. You raycists and misogynists must be eradicated - Too long have you fooled the world into accepting your genteel facades masking your genocidal intent… WTF Canada!

You are not what you said you were…

Inclusivity and Diversity. Code words for anyone not male, not white, and not straight. Why are we standing by and letting this government over reach happen?

Well, nothing like diving into the deep end...the abyss of insanity really.

Really really seems like these liberal idiots (apologies for redundancy) read
1984, took some meth maybe, huffed on a volcano laced with high test...
then watched idiotcracy ...decided with their civic wisdom make more bureaucratic bullshit, piss more time and money away coming up with bigoted nonsense.

D...iversity
I...nclusion
E...quity.
Three more letters in the alphabet gangs collective.
As June clearly illustrated they are already covered under “human rights” legislation. Seems the alphabet gang, their warlords, their political managers, those that move the pawns in the game of fiefdoms?
Really wish “SUPER HUMAN RIGHTS”

Hence the biggest flaw in identity politics, the game of fools really.
Identity politics MUST stop before we rip each other apart like mice that have it all!
I identify as a first world free thinker, despite the fact I live in a dystopian fantasyland engineered by a collective of complete fools and idiots to feed their egos and advance their position in the politicly correct foolish world many desire.
Apparently men can have babies now and menstruate 🤯🤣🤣😂
Bull💩!

Another bylaw to join the long list of bylaws the City has no interest in enforcing.
Why do they even bother? Sort of a waste of time and money.

To make up for the overrepresentation of non-Caucasian persons receiving parking tickets the city will be engaging in reconciliation practices by focussing on Caucasian parking violators.

Gladue reports will be prepared for all traffic court hearings where the alleged violators are FN citizens.

Inclusivity huh.. Another concept that has been corrupted..much like, or, really, the very same as human rights.

It will be interesting to see how Kidd and Zahar, both Xbig shot YTG ADMs, and Directors, and will hardly be unbiased about anything, will present YTG dogma. I am not familiar with the others.

My personal opinion? Blind hiring. The best person for the job, then HR introduce a respectful workplace policy that might really work. Offer educational opportunities to everyone. ALL. Your garbage man, laborer, might not want to collect trash forever, let them take, computers, or welding.
Is this Committee total voluntary? How long before they vote themselves a healthy Honorarium and the Council starts paying them? OHH.. paid already.. This Committee is a total waste of money.
