Historical unit assumes search

After three weeks, the search for Ayla Sanders is now being conducted by the Yukon RCMP’s Historical Case Unit (HCU).

After three weeks, the search for Ayla Sanders is now being conducted by the Yukon RCMP’s Historical Case Unit (HCU).

Sanders, 28, went missing from the Whitehorse area on April 17.

The HCU is currently focusing its efforts in the Miles Canyon and Schwatka Lake areas of Whitehorse.

Officers have conducted searches via air, boat and ground with assistance from the Whitehorse detachment.

Police continue to ask for the public’s assistance locating Sanders, and her father and volunteers have placed posters depicting the missing woman around the city.

She is described as 173 cm (five feet, eight inces) tall, weighing 49 (108 lbs.), with brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen wearing blue pajamas with white polar bears.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact police at 667-5555.

Whatever happened to the girl in Carmacks that went missing about 2 weeks ago? Was she ever found?
