Dr. Brendan Hanley, the Yukon’s chief medical officer of health, is remaining very tight-lipped about what he’s calling the second COVID-19-related death in the Yukon.
Hanley announced the death with almost non-existent details in a press release issued late Monday afternoon.
“(We) have confirmed a second death of a Yukon resident with COVID-19,” the release stated. “The person had unrelated health conditions that caused their death.
“The person contracted COVID-19 near the time of death and is therefore considered a COVID-19-associated death. This person will be counted as case 81.”
The person caught the virus out of the territory and died out of the territory.
In the release, Hanley added, “My entire team and I send our deep condolences to the family of this individual.
“Out of respect for this person and their family, we will not be releasing any additional information during this period of grieving.”
Unlike the first COVID fatality in October 2020 in Watson Lake, no location was given for the death, nor an age, nor when the person died, nor the gender of the deceased.
More information may be released during Wednesday’s weekly COVID briefing from Hanley.
The lack of information has caused a furore on social media.
Many people are grumbling that the fatality wasn’t actually a COVID-19 death, since the person died of other medical issues.
Others have tried to defend the wording of the release.
“I am not fully onboard with adding this death to the COVID-19 stats.
Seems odd to me. Please don’t inflate the numbers,” one man wrote.

So Handly is counting a death where virus was contracted out of Territory and was not the cause of death. Last summer we had cases where they came from another Province and those cases were put into our numbers too. Did BC count all those cases and death as their numbers too? So now we have a case of doubling the statistics to add to the fear porn media industry. All so the end game of holding us hostage to force their vaccination. Is this the practice all across Canada now too? Doubling up their numbers wherever they can. Along with counting death with covid as being equal to death from covid. This scamdemic loses it's narrative more & more every day. It is time to take back our country and put the entitled puppets out to pasture.

Recording covid deaths for unrelated reasons such as falling off of a roof, then dying, should be recorded as a covid death. I hope this newspaper is diligent enough to report this. See the following URL

DL...death increase from 1 to 2 is 100% increase but I get your point. Lack of transparency and controlling the narrative is the govt policy with covid. Hope the lawsuit will make them more open.

My guess there is a Federal slush fund that can be dipped into so the game is to add as many cases as possible. Has to be as this last one is a stretch and a half. Should be pittied rather than laughed at.

Once again, Hanley is using someone's unfortunate death to skew the Yukon covid statistics, although this person did not die of covid, and died outside the Yukon. So wrong. And you wonder why so many folks think this covid thing is a scam.

Twisted statistics to justify the covid restrictions. Now they can claim that the Yukon covid deaths doubled, from 1 to 2.
That's a 50% increase, in a single day!!! Stay afraid!!!!!
Never mind that these two unfortunate people clearly did not die of covid, but from other pre-existing conditions. They just happened to test positive from the notoriously inaccurate PCR test that churns out false positives. Even the WHO admitted this.

Amazing, blatant doublespeak. Hanley admits in plain English "The person had unrelated health conditions that caused their death". Of course, that won't stop the hysterical among us from losing their minds for another 12 months.

The article says......
"... second COVID-19-related death in the Yukon.
The person caught the virus out of the territory and died out of the territory."
So was the death in the Yukon or not in the Yukon?

Yes, Hanley is withholding details out of respect for the family’s privacy. Except, of course, that she died of Covid!

We’re all going to die! Quick, give me my vax NOW! When we reach 110% of the population vaccinated we’ll have “herd mentality“!

He has to remain, 'tight lipped' so people will buy the story that it is a Yukon 'covid related death'.
The word is that this unfortunate person who's death is being dragged through the media, went south for medical care, caught covid outside of the Yukon, and died of the health issues they went south to try to treat.
I really hate the way the personal lives of people are being talked about as if they are a covid football. Dr. Hanley is intent on stoking fear more than being clear about the truth. I am really very unimpressed, you could even say angry or disgusted about this.
This is not a 'covid related death' in any meaningful way in terms of public health in the Yukon. Dr. Hanley, leave this poor family alone and stop invading people's privacy unneccessarily. Think it through. This is just 'wrong'.

This person was added to the Yukon count because she/he had a residence here.
Covid had little to do with this death. Was in BC hospital, terminal, and passed there.
The real story here, is so sad. A person, likely an elderly person, died alone in a strange place. There are people that loved her/him who didn't get a hug, didn't get to say how much they were loved. Maybe didn't even get to say goodbye.
But hey..wave that flag everyone, thank God she/he didn't go to Superstore.

YG's language on this really exposes how COVID death numbers are inflated across the board. They literally state it wasn't from COVID, but it counts anyway. No doubt it's not the only one.

In before the smoothbrain COVID deniers.
If you have cancer and die in a car accident what killed you? Your pre-existing cancer? No the injuries related to car accident did.
A pre-existing condition (and likely we ALL have one) have little to no bearing on the cause of death. COVID is killing people. And the ones who recover are facing lasting effects.

Classic Lieberal Scare Tactics, this is completely unrelated to anything locally or even really relating to covid. Bet you it will be on the running tally moving forward now tho.
Unreal. People need to get a grip.
