Halloween saw 12 people arrested

It was a peaceful Halloween night in Whitehorse on Friday.
Although local RCMP report they took 12 people into custody over the course of All Hallows Eve, the vast majority of arrests made were for public drinking and intoxication, RCMP spokesman Sgt. Mark Groves said this morning.
"There were no alarming calls of violence or anything like that."
An investigation into one complaint of an assault was dropped, Groves said, because neither the victim nor the witnesses wanted to make a report.
He said he was not aware of any reports of property damage or if charges had been laid against any of the people taken into police custody.
Over at the firehall, things were particularly quiet.
"Absolutely nothing happened," said assistant chief Rob Jack. "The guys didn't even leave the hall."
Pat Bleackley, a spokeswoman for Whitehorse General Hospital, said staff in the emergency ward "were busy, but not because of anything Halloween-related."
