Four face charges after report of armed robbery
Whitehorse RCMP have arrested four people after a man reported he was robbed at gunpoint by a masked individual.
Whitehorse RCMP have arrested four people after a man reported he was robbed at gunpoint by a masked individual.
Last week, a man told police he was robbed at gunpoint following a party he attended on June 13.
He and another male were supposedly being given a ride home when they were taken to a wooded area, he told police.
A masked individual soon confronted the two with a shotgun and demanded cash.
After he had seized a large amount of money from the victim, the robber left the scene.
Jonathan Baglee, 19, has been charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon, committing an indictable offence while having his face masked and using a firearm while committing a robbery.
He remains in custody.
Samuel Cromarty, 19, has been charged with robbery and released on conditions.
Mercedes Shelley, 18, and Kevin Smith, 18, are both charged with being party to the offence of robbery, and were released on conditions.
For the three accused who have been released, their next scheduled appearance in territorial court is July 7.
"This robbery was not a random incident, and at no time did we feel that the general public was at risk,” Sgt. Don Rogers, the RCMP's spokesperson, said today.

I kind of wonder how anyone goes to Jail here in the Yukon. Like for instance I was the one working at the time when Fas Gas got Robbed by an 18 year old Punk. Well he has been charged with Robbery......why not Armed Robbery and Assault with a weapon as well as Wearing a Disguise. I guess because i put up a Fight(not wrestling as the Star stated)I guess he gets a lesser charge. Hmmmm that doesn't really make sense to me but that is how the justice system must work.
