A group of volunteers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is inviting local leaders, health officials and interested Yukoners to attend a public forum to discuss the pandemic’s many effects and its subsequent public health measures on the territory.
“COVID Conversations: Respecting the Individual, Healing the Community” will take place the evening of June 1 at the Mt. McIntyre Recreation Centre.
It will feature a blend of in-person and virtual presentations from prepared speakers as well as impromptu testimonies from the audience.
“Over the last several months, I’ve heard from more and more people whose lives have been deeply affected by the pandemic – professionally, financially, physically, emotionally – people who have been separated from their families, careers and communities,” Shane Wolffe, one of the event’s presenters, said Thursday.
“I realized that many of these people feel isolated, and if they had the opportunity to share their experiences or listen to others in similar circumstances, they would recognize they are not alone and hopefully be able to reconcile with what has occurred and find a path forward together.”
Although some may contend that the territory has largely moved on from the worst of COVID since various pandemic public health restrictions, lockdowns, vaccine and mask mandates have been lifted, Wolffe contends that it is not the case for all.
“Many Yukoners are still not able to travel freely or have had their careers and educations disrupted – in some cases irreparably – and I believe it is important for our policy makers to hear the results of their decisions firsthand,” Wolffe said.
Organizers have invited Yukon politicians and public health officials to listen to local speakers who have offered to share their stories.
They have also arranged for a number of Outside presenters to participate via video conference, including Mark Friesen, Odessa Orlewicz and Marcella Desjarlais, with more yet to be confirmed.
“We are very pleased to have secured several participants who are fairly well-known in national circles,” added Wolffe.
While the confirmed Outside speakers are all outspoken commentators on the adverse effects of pandemic public health measures, Wolffe said this is a non-partisan event where all perspectives will be welcome.
“Attitudes towards the various measures implemented over the last two years have divided so many families and friendships; everybody has at least one loved one that is offside with the majority of the others in their peer group,” said Wolffe.
“I believe it is time to clear the air; it’s time to heal the divisions in our families and community.”
Doors for the forum will open at 6:30 p.m. and speakers will begin at 7 p.m.

Really?? It’s not about compensation at this point. It’s about trying to deal with and overcome debilitating injuries caused by the vaccinations. That’s all !!!

For those who believe that the covid vaccine is 'safe and effective', go ahead and take the booster shots twice a year, and make Trudeau and Pf1zer happy. In 2021 Trudeau contracted Pfizer for covid booster shots every year up to and including 2024. Did I hear right, Trudeau ordered 60 million doses for 2024 alone?

Now for those who prefer to look a little deeper, here's CDC's link to their VAERS site for adverse reactions & deaths to the covid vaccine:

"No high horse here by the way. I know there were side effects of the vaccine that hit some people harder than others. Sore arms, headaches, nausea etc., but for most, those passed within a day. But an actual injury?"
Between my family and my friends' families I know of numerous people who had heart attacks immediately after the first shot, one resulting in death. I have two family members that had heart attacks immediately after the third shot resulting in heart surgery. I have 2 coworkers and a relative that got shingles after the second shot, my relative has severe inflammation and will be having heart surgery soon. I know 2 women that have chronic pain and internal bleeding in their ovaries that started, or was exasperated, after the first shot. I know a man who now suffers from constant mini strokes. These are people I actually know. If I was to speak about friends of friends I could write a book.
Are these health problems a direct result of the shots? Obviously I cannot say for sure, but since many countries have banned the shots for causing the problems I have listed, I would say yes for most. Also, to go from health problems being a rarity in my social circle to common place, at the same time vaccinations started, is suspicious. Also similar health problems are in the released trial data the courts pried out the the manufacturer's hands. Also there is the VAERS database.
I only know of a couple vaccinated people who have not had covid. I know many that have had it twice. For most it was far from mild. Out of the quite large group of unvaccinateed people I know, there are only two that have had covid. It was mild and lasted a few days. This follows the pattern shown by the statistics of other provinces where unvaccinated are less of a strain on the health system.
I hope everyone is keeping up with the Yukon stats that are released every month:
https://yukon.ca/en/statistics-and-data/yukon-bureau-statistics/find-monthly-statistics-yukon
Deaths are on the rise here just like everywhere else on the planet. I have yet to hear an explanation or even a mention of it from those that just spent 2 years promoting / forcing the safe and effective treatment.
For anyone that wants to write off everyone's anecdotal stories as just coincidences, please first explain the increase in deaths since the vaccines started. And research denial.

No high horse here by the way. I know there were side effects of the vaccine that hit some people harder than others. Sore arms, headaches, nausea etc., but for most, those passed within a day. But an actual injury? Just curious as to what that might be. I have a pretty large social circle, and haven't heard of a single person with one (I do know 2 people with long covid, and 2 that died of covid though).

The same people shouting “we don’t need mandates and restrictions- almost everyone who gets covid survives!” are also shouting “hey look at this doctor here who gave his patients horse dewormer pills - they survived! They beat covid!”
I want you to re-read the above paragraph as many times as necessary until it sinks in.

Speaking of looking things up. You may want to look into ‘confirmation bias’. It’s what snake oil salesmen prey upon. They know you will believe what they say because they made it up to suit your bias that already exists. They wait until there’s trends in misinformation and then build a sales pitch to suit your views.
‘Don’t trust the big system that treats you as just another statistic. Trust me. I can make you feel special, validated and turn you into the smartest man in the room. By the way, let me know what you already believe to be true and I’ll include it in my remarks.’

I can tell you of 4 people I know personally, who have been injured from the COVID vaccine. That coming from a very small social circle, so get off your high horse!!!

Mainstream media has endlessly bashed doctors who used (or tried to use) Ivermectin for treating Covid-19. It might have something to do with the fact that Ivermectin is cheap, has decades of safety records, and is widely available. That would cut big pharma’s enormous profits from vaccines. Worst of all, much of mainstream media is controlled by big pharma.
To find out the truth with regards to Dr. Nagase’s use of Ivermectin to successfully treat patients with Covid-19, best to look up independent media:

Question for DL on Jun 1, 2022 at 12:49 pm
You said "I’ve heard from previously healthy people getting crippled by this vaccine". I keep hearing of all of these people who you and others 'know'. Where are they? CBC just posted a story ('mainstream media') about the first person getting compensated from Vaccine Injury fund, after coming down with GBS after initial vaccine (very rare, by the way). So if there are all of these thousands of people out there who've been injured or made sick, why aren't they applying for and getting compensation? (Actually, I think I know the answer).

You said " I’ve heard from previously healthy people getting crippled by this vaccine". well, where and who are they? I was just reading on CBC (you know, 'mainstream media') that a person was awarded $$ after coming down with GBS after an injection of (I think) AstraZeneca.

I hope someone from the Star attends, and reports back. I don't share your enthusiasm though, based on the speakers lined up. A recent addition is Dr Nagase, who says he treated Covid patients in Alberta with ivermectin (got it from the local Co-op feed store). I feel for the people who've been duped by the grifters and charlatans out there, but inviting a group of them to a community forum isn't helping.

Yes, public forums about the impact of covid measures and covid vaccine serious adverse reactions are much needed. I’ve heard from previously healthy people getting crippled by this vaccine, but all politicians will tell us is that the vaccine is 'safe'. There’s been too much censorship about these issues in mainstream media. In Canada, doctors aren’t even allowed to use effective therapeutics like Ivermectin to treat covid. The intense pressure by the Trudeau regime to coerce Canadians to get the covid injection is so outlandish, it’s obviously not about health. Public forums like this one will encourage disclosures to shine a light on what’s really going on.

This is such a vital Event for the Yukoners to participate in. The Truth needs to be heard and understood before we together, can move forward and repair the damage. I truly hope all of the community attends it is an opportunity you cannot miss.
I look forward to seeing and hearing this event too, hope we can in BC.

More political stagecraft to muddy the performance of the government's handling of the pandemic. Focus on the problems created by the CERB and similar programs that were implemented to ease the sting of the restrictions. What's the net value of having these forums? I expect they will a collection of views and opinions with no beneficial outcome because governments do not consider past events and apply what was learned from them when dealing with the latest challenge they face.

Who is Odessa Orlewicz? on May 28, 2022 at 1:17 pm
She gives talks about how many times 'pharmaceuticals' are mentioned in the Bible (16 apparently). She somehow ties monkeypox cases to ... something? But she will sell you survivalist gear, everything from solar panels to generators to 'tower gardens' to grow your own vegetables to books. Or she will gladly accept donations, no need to purchase anything.

The 'Outside presenters' - Marcella Desjarlais aka Williams on May 28, 2022 at 9:03 am
She ran for PPC in Burnaby. Among other highlights "People’s Party candidate for Burnaby South Marcella Williams, who goes by Marcella Desjarlais on Facebook, posted a meme on her personal account with imagery from Nazi Germany. The text overlaid on the image falsely claimed that during the Nuremberg trials, “even the media was prosecuted and put to death for lying to the public.” Twelve of 24 high-ranking Nazis charged with war crimes, none of whom was in the media, were executed in those trials." She wrote 'should happen again' and 'death is the better answer'. It seems she and Orlewicz tag team when it comes to speaking engagements and fundraising

The 'Outside presenters' - Mark Friesen on May 28, 2022 at 8:50 am
Mark Friesen, PPC candidate "Friesen, who goes by The Grizzly Patriot online and often live streams from his truck, routinely downplayed the harm done by COVID-19 and spread conspiracies about vaccines. In a video about pandemic regulations impacting Christmas, Friesen insisted to his followers that the rules were elites “using this plandemic to... destroy the foundations of Western civilization.” He has recovered from Covid apparently, after spending time in the ICU in both Saskatoon and Ontario (when Saskatchewan ICU's were so full that some patients had to be airlifted).

the organizers may have good intentions on May 28, 2022 at 6:51 am
A quick online search reveals who the 'Outside presenters' are. A PPC candidate from Saskatchewan who denies Covid exists but had to be flown to hospital in Ontario when sick with it; an out-there youtuber who gives talks about how many times 'pharmaceuticals' is mentioned in the Bible; and a BC woman who uses different names, and who called for the execution of journalists during last provincial election. And of course they are all asking for 'donations'. No thanks - the forum might have had some credibility if not for rounding up speakers like these.

While I like any kind of public forums, committee public consultations, I'll withhold my thoughts on this one until i see how it actually goes down.
Agree? Disagree? fight like alley cats? That's fine..as long as it's all public. It's that behind closed doors crap I can't stand. Without some paper work, a public report on something in the local papers, nothing means anything..it's just he said, she said. I rarely take a phone call any more..Send me an email...and I'll do the same. Privacy? Secrecy? Confidential? Just like the Human Rights offices..gone way too far.

Invited to ask questions to be answered or lectures to be Libsplained? Would I be invited or would I pose too much trouble with unpopular but legitimate concerns? I noticed the electoral reform consult I was invited to never verified my reply to invitation to attend, gee, I wonder why? Probably small minds in a small town with small ambitions that are overdefensive of their abyssmal record in spite of unprecendented financing by the taxpayers of Canada. Yes, I am aware you will think or say the same of me, which only serves to prove my point. The difference is, I am not in control of your lives, nor would I ever wish to be. Is it any wonder why?

Feel good story about giving people a voice but we already know that the politicians don't care, weren't affected like the rest of us plebs and are only going to dish out more non-answer double speak bullsh** like they always do. On a federal level, mandates still exist so many people still can't travel domestically and are not allowed to even leave this country. In a country so large taking away a persons' ability to travel by air is cruel, especially now that the cost of gas is going through the roof. Our local politicians have no power to do anything about that. If you want to actually do something to help locally, call an election so we can get rid of all the dead weight dragging us down.
