The latest figures from the Yukon government – from Friday afternoon – show five more cases of COVID-19 in the territory.
Dr. Catherine Elliott, the acting chief medical officer of health, said the cases were confirmed between noon last Thursday, and noon Friday. With recoveries, that brought the active case count to 77.
It also brought the total in the outbreak to 432 cases since June 1, including out-of-territory residents diagnosed in the Yukon and probable cases.
For the five new cases since noon Thursday, all are in Whitehorse.
No figures from the past weekend were available by press time early this afternoon.
Since June 1, 349 people have recovered and there have been four deaths. There has been a total of six deaths since November 2020.
A drive-up testing service was set up in mid-June in Whitehorse to address the higher demand for testing as a result of the June outbreak.
The drive-up testing service on Waterfront Place closed Sunday.
Testing is still available seven days per week.
The COVID-19 Testing and Assessment Centre is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Well, thats another 5 that will have immunity. Is that such a terrible thing? Surviving from the virus is probably better for immunity than the vaccination.

The good doctor Hanley seems to always be on vacation... Guess it's his Great Yukon Summer while everyone else is left to worry about keeping their businesses a float and kids looked after.
