One new case of COVID-19 was reported Monday in the Yukon.

Case 59 is in Whitehorse, linked to a previous case, said the office of Dr. Brendan Hanley, the chief medical officer of health.

“Health status: the person is self-isolating and recovering at home,” the office said.

“Public exposure notifications: none required, as the person was already self-isolating prior to when the infectious period began.”

Everyone in the Yukon should follow the safe six plus one, the office said. The plus one means wear a mask in all indoor public places.

Anyone experiencing any COVID-19-like symptoms should self-isolate and remain at home, take the self-assessment online and arrange to get tested.

I am sorry DL & other nay-Sayers, but you are ones who need to wake up. YT now isn't using the rapid test that sometimes gave false positives. Down play it all you want, but recent studies from Europe where Covid is rampant have shown that by time someone needs hospitalization, they already have irreversible fibrosis in lungs. is that your wish? We are so far lucky; our location, travel restrictions & those who have been careful, have kept us safe but that is not a reason to be nonchalant. Possibly, had our border been kept closed, we would not have had the cases we did. Local economy could have carried on as normal right from beginning. No need for local businesses to be forced to jump through hoops to open.
Take a look at Maritime Provinces who kept Covid at bay with their collective bubble until restrictions were eased and Covid spread. Proof right there that closing borders works. Having ours closed earlier was hard on small tourism businesses but season was almost over when border opened to BC & there was no need for that. Did economy blossom with border open to RVs who only dropped cash at big box for groceries & gas? Nowhere else for them to spend. Some have needed to travel for medical, business or urgent family reasons but many didn't need to visit outside just because they could.
Masks are not a big deal & for those with new found wisdom, who say masks don't work; I wonder if they have ever bothered to ask their surgeon or dentist why they have been wearing them for many decades. It's not because the operator has bad breath; it's to prevent blood, saliva, tooth dust, pathogens etc from entering the operator's airway.

Dear DL - Save your breath. There are too many people who have committed to the “blue-pill” society... Comfortably numbed in the bliss of a deliberate delusion... The ignorance washes over them like the warm waves... Take me!

I got 11 thumbs down on my comment about the Lib government giving 485 million dollars to developing countries etc. I can only suspect most of the thumbs down are from Liberal government bureaucrats. And others from devout liberals.
Larry, we seniors are still waiting for a reasonable raise in our OAS and CCP pensions. With all the money you people are giving away and squandering, how about helping us out. With all the checks you have been cutting since you were elected MP, especially before elections, toss some of it our way. Seniors can be organized too you know. Especially before and during an election.

This doesn’t make sense. We have 58 cases of covid, a disease apparently so severe we must lockdown and tank the economy, but in fact they’re all recovering at home with mild symptoms !?

The PCR tests for covid are known to be unreliable, giving false positives if there are only mild symptoms. Virologists have said these tests should not be used for diagnosing covid unless the person is admitted to hospital with respiratory distress. So, what’s going on right now could well be that folks with the common cold (also a coronavirus) get tested, with a false positive outcome. On the other hand, since they’re recovering at home, just like we’ve done all our lives when we get the common cold, how is this justified to lock us all down and force us to wear masks? People, wake up.

We’re told that one person from Watson Lake died of Covid-19, because they tested positive. However this person was elderly, had several other pre-existing conditions, was followed closely by the local health care team, and died at home in the night. This does not at all sound like a death from covid, which would involve several days of respiratory distress, in which case the medical team would have taken that person to the hospital and administered oxygen. The medical authorities need to admit that person could well have died from some of the other pre-existing conditions they had, and not of covid. Labelling this as a death from covid, only because they tested positive with the unreliable PCR test, is misrepresentation.

We should be very concerned about the reports of many deaths among the elderly with co-morbidities whose get mislabelled as ‘covid deaths’. These false statistics are used to raise undue fear and to justify unprecedented measures that deprive us of fundamental freedoms and bring us to economic ruin. Think about it: one consequence of a tanked economy will be the eventual depletion of funds for our health care system.

Media, please do your job. We need clear and factual analysis of these matters. Our democracy and freedoms depend on the facts being presented clearly and truthfully.

You won't get this in any of the Lib mainstream media. Had to find this in the underground media. Justin Trudeau and International Development Minister Karina Gould and Procurement Minister Anita Anand announced this morning they are giving a gift of 485 million dollars of new funding - code for borrowed money, probably from China?, to be put toward delivering Covid19 vaccines in developing countries. Most of that will probably find its way into the off shore bank accounts of the countries leaders. So, Larry B if you read this, how about explaining to us - that is if you know about this, why the rest of the Canada, especially Yukon are having such a hard time getting Covid vaccines here. I will send you the link. Not that I really expect an answer.
