A Yukon man was scheduled to appear in court this afternoon after pleading guilty to incest.

The 45-year-old, whose name cannot be published to protect the identities of his young victims, is facing 22 charges.

He has pled guilty to seven of them, including incest, assault and assault with a weapon.

Court documents state the man engaged in sexual intercourse and various other sexual acts with his eldest daughter between 2007 and 2010.

At the time, she was 15.

The father of three daughters younger than 18 has been in custody since December 2010,when his wife reported him to the RCMP and he was arrested.

According to court documents, the man told officials if his wife had not reported him, "Things probably would have continued the way they were.”

The accused has claimed his eldest was "driving me mad with passions towards her,” and "making me fall in love with her,” the documents say.

The man told officials he believed his daughter had a "lusting problem.”

Some of the physical abuse is alleged to have involved weapons, such as a wooden board.

The accused "always felt he had something against his oldest daughter” and believed he could "beat the evil out of her,” court documents quote him as saying.

The man would also repeatedly burn himself, documents say, to teach his daughter that "no pain or expense is too great if it teaches us to be free of sin and get us eventually into heaven.”

The man is currently prohibited from having any contact with his wife or daughters.

During the three years, the man is also accused of abusing his eldest to produce pornographic photos and videos for himself.

The maximum sentence for incest is 14 years.

The prosecution has previously stated it's seeking an eight-year prison sentence.

No trial date has been set for the remaining charges.

The man was originally scheduled to be sentenced earlier this week. The sentencing was adjourned, with no reason given.

I want to give an update. Thanks to the healing power of God, the eldest girl is doing AWESOME and wants to help other victims of abuse. They all live independently and are rocking life and making the most of every opportunity. I am their mother. I understand that people would want me in jail. Brainwashing is a terrible thing, and until you experience it, you do not understand what you go through to get to that point. Death threats, starvation, segregation from everyone you love. It is a miracle that I deprogrammed myself. I began to read the Bible in depth on my own, and began to see that all his teaching was opposite of the scripture. This, and more time away from him, working in town, allowed me to free myself from his brainwashing.
I consider it a miracle since there was nobody else around who knew what I was going through. It took me awhile to forgive myself, but I realized that apart from God, I couldn't have. If not for His rescue, I honestly believe that I would have been killed, along with one or more of my children. With 8 years behind us, we are all doing so wonderfully, and all three have a joy and thankfulness towards me for their rescue. We are all free!

This guy is beyond screwed up. Bring back corporal punishment. Lets beat the evil out of him then give him the max sentence in general population... no protection there.

maybe the girls will live a better life now that he is out of the picture.

Obviously this man is so off the rails that he should be sent away for the maximum sentence, (prosecutors do not see it that way and only asked for a little over half), but let's also consider Good Old Mom. She waited three years to report that her children were being beaten and sexually abused. There should also be charges for adults who know of criminal abuse of minors but do nothing about it. The fact that it was her own daughters being molested and beaten does not make it any more forgiveable. Why do we tolerate this? There is a base level of responsibility that has to be expected from adult members of society. I don't care how much it would screw up their relationship, or how 'scared' they are of the perverted molester/child abuser.

If he believed he could beat the evil out of her then it stands to reason he must believe the evil could be beaten out of him. Bring back the whip.
