A FATHER’S DEDICATION – Chris Moir, the father of Ayla Sanders, puts up posters Monday as he seeks the whereabouts of his daughter, who has been reported as missing. She was last seen April 17 in Whitehorse. The 28-year-old woman also goes by the name Ellah Rose Sanders.

“She’s one-of-a-kind; I don’t think people can meet her without remembering her,” Chris Moir, Ellah’s father, told the Star late this morning.
Sanders, whose legal name is Ayla Sanders, was last seen 12 days ago when she left her residence in downtown Whitehorse on foot.
She is described as 173 cm (5’8”) tall, weighing 49 kg (108 lbs.) with brown hair and blue eyes.
Moir described his daughter as friendly, unique and free-spirited.
He hopes Yukoners will rally together to share the posters he has crafted from the RCMP missing persons report.
“We have a lot of family and friends putting up posters, including her sister, and they’re all concerned and love and care for her,” Moir said.
The poster has been shared more than 1,000 times on Facebook, but he hopes Yukoners will help put up paper posters in the rural communities.
The posters are available to be printed off from his Facebook page.
He said he doesn’t think anybody has posted the signs in Haines Junction or Watson Lake, and hopes members of those communities will share the posters there.
He said Ellah left the house on April 17 without her cell phone.
“I don’t know how many 28-year-olds ever leave home without their phone,” Moir noted.
Since her disappearance, Moir has spent his days printing off posters and working with Yukon media outlets to get the word out.
Moir hopes somebody in the Yukon might have seen her in the past two weeks and will reach out to the RCMP.
“She has a beautiful smile, you can see in the poster; it’s pretty unmistakable,” Moir said.
“That made it even more real, when the RCMP asked for her dental records.”
Moir said an RCMP investigation is underway, and several dog searches have been carried out.
Moir said he requested more details about the RCMP’s investigation process, including where the dog searches took place, but is understanding that officers are busy.
“It’s no fault of theirs,” Moir said.
“It’s easy to want to blame somebody, but there is no blame.”
This week, the investigation will move to the historical crimes unit.
“Everybody is on Facebook; everybody who talks to her has probably checked the missing persons RCMP file, so it just seems odd that nobody has come forward,” Moir said.
“Hopefully, she’s alive and safe.”

This is very sad. I hope someone comes forward with information that will help find her and that she is well.

Missing people are..so awful for everyone..for them.. for the people that love them. I sure hope she is found, we need happy endings.
