Facility users must be vaccinated

The requirement went into effect on Saturday.
Children under age 12 are not required to provide proof of vaccination.
No proof of vaccination will be required to enter any other city facility, but masks will be required inside all of them, the city said.
Proof of vaccination will not be required on city buses, but riders will be required to wear masks.
The city said it continues to follow the recommendations made by the chief medical officer of health.
Yukoners can request their proof of vaccination credential online at yukon.ca/vaccine-proof or on the phone via the COVID-19 InfoLine at 1-877-374-0425, seven days a week, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
As well, the government is again taking appointments for a third vaccine booster shot for those more than 50 years old.

Funny how reading all the comments I can pin point exactly who is watching CBC from wake to sleep. I told everyone last year passports would be real if we did not say no. I was told I was crazy, now it's in your face but no one was prepared. I said prices would rise last year, again I was called crazy. Until we all point the finger the right direction, directly onto our rulers this is going to last long after we are 100 percent vaxed.
I realize many of you are for this and to you all I want to say is, I will defend to the death your RIGHT to your opinion and your right to believe this is going to end, but you all seem more likely to put me to death for my opinion that this passport, belittling and berating is the wrong way to do it.

Hey...I wonder how angry some of the CGC staff would get if we asked for their Canadian citizenship documents or proof of Canadian citizenship?
Unless the historians chug gallons of Cherry Kool-Aid, these times are not gonna look good for the state.

I really do not know what to say, to convey the weapons of mass distraction tactics, danger of blind faith, success of the divide and conquer campaign so many do not or will not see.

Thank you anti-vaxer’s. Your cry for personal freedom, my body, stupid scientists,etc., has given those of us that believe in the JAB all the more freedom to enjoy life during the pandemic. Travelling, more seats on aircraft, less people on the beaches, restaurants, resorts etc. Leisure activities, shopping, all the normal things in life more enjoyable, because the uneducated, me, me, society, that don’t think vaccinations work to end this pandemic, continue to cause our hospitals and medical personnel too be overworked won’t do the right thing and get the shots needed.
Keep it up, I personally don’t miss you at all.

John W@ 'new study shows...' Some people believe anything they read. Just because it's out there in print doesn't mean it's true. There's just as much printed material on the effectiveness of vaccines. Your reading and so called fact finding is selective to support your own point of view.

@Jo checking vaccination is not “ doing your job” your job is to work at the Canada games center. If everyone simply ignored the governments “vaccine mandate” it would simply be abolished because it is not working…. We are the people of this country we control it not the government. Imagine a few government employees trying to enforce something 40,000 + Yukoners disagree with. It would simply not work and the government would be shamed.

Really, the medical so called professionals, who advise our political leaders on what to do. The exact same Doctors who pumped us full of Oxycotin, created a Opiod epidemic and now want us to get $30 experimental injections x2 per person.
Yeah, I am good. I won’t be going to CGC, I was told I had a choice in July at work. I could get vaccinated or not come back.
For those who haven’t got vaccinated, all the power to you.
For those of us Sheeple, we’re doing what we can to get through life. Tough spot to be in.

@yt, I'm not sure what your point is. That not a big percentage signed the petition? Sandy Silver just made the best case for people not to sign petitions that disagree with him, by proving that he reads every name and ridiculing some who signed it. The premier of the Yukon, trying to make a public spectacle of individual citizens who don't agree with him.
In this small territory, there is the perception, if not the reality, that there are consequences to being public with an opinion that the minority holds. Even though minority rights are a cherished value in our country.
I didn't sign the petition, partly because I didn't see it. I suspect I would have been uneasy about putting my name on it. But I would sign one next time, if it reflected my concerns.
I'm vaccinated, and I'm not anti-vaccine. But I'm less in favour of mandates every day. For one thing, their strategies all seem to focus on achieving 100 percent compliance, which for any other issue, would be seen as self-defeating. I just don't believe that 15 percent of unvaccinated people are responsible for a new wave, nearly two years into a pandemic where we started with no immunity at all in the population.
For another, they have crossed the line into secrecy about about the data, leaving us to helplessly note a shifting message. How has our vaccination rate stayed at 85 percent since September? And why are our restrictions virtually the same as jurisdictions with rates in the 60 percent range?
For yet another, they've crossed the line into cruelty. Unpaid leave, without being able to collect EI? There will be damage.

Your link to Planet Today was fascinating JohnW. Not only did I learn about the evil Covid19 New World Order plot I also learned that vaccines are turning people into real life zombies, that there are alien bodies and UFOs hidden at the USAF secret base "Hanger 18" and I listened to a recording of Bigfoots talking to each other in the California wilderness. Made up news is way more entertaining than the boring reality- based stuff that the MSM feeds us.

@yt : If only the petition worked like a census and every Yukoner was required to report their stance on the issues raised...then maybe your little math problem would equate to some sort of reasonable estimate as to who supports what.
My name is not on that petition but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have signed it had I known about it. You can agree the vaccine is efficient in keeping most cases out of the hospital. I

Don't worry folks you can still go to the liquor store to douse your rising frustrations about limiting your ability to excersize like any good Yukoner does.
Heaven forbid we work on the abhorrent stats the Yukon claims as trophies everytime the Canadian consumption reports come out.
The alcohol related stress put on the health care system is the next pandemics problem, I'm positive our leaders will have all the answers by then.

The government has successfully turned small business owners, servers, waitresses, cashiers, bank tellers.. literally everyone who works, into police, who will rat you out, turn you in and otherwise fry your butt, seeing to it that you are fined, jailed if you try to defend your right to privacy..about your health, where you shop, who you are, where you live.. what a god awful mess.

They just need something on paper to show they are “doing something” to save lives, not that it actually does anything.
