The remaining five lots up for grabs in the former Motorways trucking yard downtown will go on sale May 6.

Earlier this month, four of the nine city properties from Keish Street to Black Street and in between First and Second avenues were sold through a tender process.

The city announced on its website recently it will release the remaining five lots as over the counter sales, with the lot prices set at the minimum upset prices outlined in the tenders on May 6.

To be eligible to buy one of the lots, potential purchasers must register with the city's planning department (4210 Fourth Ave.) in person between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on May 6.

If more than one prospective buyer shows interest in the same property by the end of the registration period, a draw will be held "to ensure fairness in the disposition process.”

Anyone interested in buying must also be at the planning department in person at 2 p.m. May 6 and provide a bank draft, certified cheque or money order payable to the city for 10 per cent of the advertised price of the lot he or she wants to buy.

The remaining five lots range in price from $208,000 for Lot 27 to $788,000 for Lot 45.

Lot 27 – a 651-square-metre property – is off a pedestrian-only section of First Avenue across from the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre.

Lot 45 totals 1,900 square metres and sits at the corner of Black Street and Second Avenue.

Also up for sale are:

• Lot 28, a 1,040 square metre property across from the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre at Black Street and First Avenue priced $392,000;

• Lot 41, a 1,470 square metre property at Keish Street and Second Avenue beside the Greyhound bus depot priced at $637,000; and

• Lot 43, a 1,720 square metre property at Keish Street and Second Avenue across from Lot 41, priced at $713,000.
