A former Yukon government home care worker has been charged with stealing money from an elderly woman in her care on Dec. 6.

Sandy Louise Forbes, 41, made her first territorial court appearance Wednesday.

She is expected to enter a plea to the charge on Feb. 2.

Since the alleged incident, Forbes no longer works for the government.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Social Services, under whose direction the accused woman worked, was not available to comment about the situation this morning.
