Elections Yukon is inviting electors to share their views on the communications and services provided for the Nov. 7 election.

That can be done through a short on-line survey available at www.electionsyk.ca.

Recent amendments to the Elections Act expanded opportunities for voting and voter registration during the election.

“Communications were designed to ensure that electors were informed of the services available to them – and to provide necessary information on voting dates and locations,” Elections Yukon said in a statement.

In addition to newspaper, radio and community cable TV advertising, key information was shared through Facebook and Twitter.

Information on voting locations and voting options was delivered to homes across Yukon.

As well, for the first time in a territorial election, Voter Information Cards were mailed to electors on the voters list.

Interactive on-line services provided “anytime/anywhere” access to voting options and locations, lists of candidates that would appear on the ballot, and contact information for local returning officers.

Results of the ballot counts were posted online at the close of polls on the evening of Nov. 7.

“Electors’ feedback will be used to identify the best ways to reach electors and to improve future service,” Elections Yukon said.
